Dermatology microscopes are used to view thin slices of skin tissue. The most common setup for a dermatology microscope utilizes lower magnification objective lenses 4x, 10x, 20x and 40x for a total magnification of 40x, 100x, 200x and 400x. The lowest magnifications are typically used most frequently. When using a dermatology microscope the samples must be sliced thinly in order to allow light to pass through them.
