Zoom Lens Digital Microscopes

What is a Zoom Lens Microscope?
A zoom lens microscope typically does not have eyepieces and instead uses a digital camera and monitor to view images. The zoom lens can provide high magnification and depending on the quality of the camera and monitor used in the system, high resolution is possible.
The zoom lens digital microscope provides a range of magnification from about 15x - 115x. This zoom range is wider than the zoom range provided on a standard stereo microscope.
Zoom lens digital microscopes are available with a 13" monitor attached to the zoom lens, or with a 27" free standing monitor. The larger the monitor, the higher the on-screen magnification. High resolution options that provide 4K UHD are also available.
Zoom Lens Microscope Benefits
A zoom lens digital microscope has several benefits over other types of microscopes.
- Wider zoom range than a stereo microscope.
- Less expensive than a metallurgical microscope.
- Reduces eye strain by eliminating need to look through eyepieces for prolonged periods of time.
- Ergonomics allow user to sit upright and at a distance from microscope.
- Measurements can be performed either using the software included with the camera, or with an advanced system that includes digimatic indicators (see below).
Digital Zoom Lens Measurement Microscopes

The digital zoom lens measurement microscope includes digimatic indicators that provide precise measuring capability. The digital micrometer heads switch between metric and inches and provide 50mm of X-Y travel. Additionally, the included software can be calibrated and used to make measurements.
Applications for this digital measurement microscope include:
- Quality control
- Pharmaceutical
- Manufacturing
- PCB inspection
- Medical Device Inspection
- Electronics Inspection
- Welding
This video shows the process of measuring using the digitmatic indicators.
Larger Working Area Zoom Lens Microscopes
For applications where a larger working area or longer working distance is required, zoom lens boom systems and articaulted arm zoom lens systems provide a solution.
