Zoology Insects Prepared Microscope Slides

	Weevil This is a Granary Weevil, sitophilus granarius. Often found in baking flour.		Spider This shows the exoskeleton of the entire spider. Spiders are air breathing arthropods that have eight legs, and chelicerae modified into fangs that inject venom.
	Pediculus This is a body louse which infests humans. Also known as head lice. Learn more here.		Periplaneta This a genus of cockroaches. Genearlly found in tropical and hot, humid climates.
	Honey Bee Spur Honey bees are made up of only seven species and represent only a small fraction of the approximately 20,000 known species of bees.		Mosquito (Female) While male mosquitos typically feed on nectar and plant juices, the female needs to obtain nutrients from blood before she can produce eggs. Thus, what the mosquito is best known for - biting humans.
	Aphid Aphid lion, Chrysopa Vulgaris, Aphids are also known as plant lice.		Fruit Fly Fruit flies are attracted to ripened fruits and vegetables. They cause problems with contaminating food with bacteria and other disease-producing organisms.
	White Ant (Termite) These are white ants, also known as termites. They feed mostly on dead plant material.		Bee Honey bee worker, mouth parts.
